A CASE OF PLACENTA PREVIA….
She was a young bubbly girl in her mid-twenties, carrying her second pregnancy
She is a case of previous LSCS booked outside. She suddenly rushed in during busyhours of OPD with profuse painless bleeding pv. She’s diagnosed to have central placenta previa ( placenta completely covering os) with 26 wks of pregnancy. She was immediately admitted. Her Hb was 8g%! & 2 units of blood transfusion given.
With utmost care & further 2 episodes of bleeding, we crossed our fingers crossed to wait till baby reaches maturity without compromising mother’s safety!
At around 30 weeks of pregnancy, she had a heavy bout of bleeding which didn’t settle down & hence did an emergency caesarean section with stepwise vascular ligation.Uterus contracted well.
Baby weighed 1.4 kg & was kept in NICU care for 1 week.
Both mother & Baby recovered well..
The whole family was extremely happy & relieved of their paramount stress…
The boy is 6 yrs old now, cute & intelligent. He still comes for follow with child specialist.
